1920’s Transformation

This beautiful kitchen maximizes space and increases the flow of traffic through the home.  Redesigning the kitchen to eliminate a u-shaped counter and adding built-in seating makes this kitchen feel infinitely bigger without losing valuable counter workspace.  A custom built in spice rack, which utilizes an otherwise unused space in front of the hidden chimney, lends valuable storage in this smaller kitchen.  Additional storage solutions include slide out pot and pan storage, drawer organizers, drawers under the built in bench seating, and a slide out garbage can and recycling bin cabinet.  The installation of oak flooring, which matches the flooring throughout the living space, adds continuity to the main floor.

When asked about his favorite parts of the kitchen, the homeowner immediately replied, “the beautiful cabinets and the backsplash!”  He was also thrilled to have a dishwasher, the very first one he has had in his 60+ years of life.  After discussing various aspects of the kitchen, including the custom built-in seating, gas stove, and dealing with the exposed brick chimney, he added that another thing he enjoyed about his kitchen remodel was how easy it was to work with Sitka Projects and the relationship he had come to have with Toby, the kitchen designer and manager of the project.

Take a look at the incredible transformation of this kitchen!
